Race & Ethnicity

Race is a social construct that is not rooted in biology.  Even so, our society is still divided and segregated by racial lines. Please think about how racial divisions manifest themselves in our  culture. If you had $1 billion dollars, what might you do to help eliminate racial divisions?   When it comes to racial divisions, these things should not be taking lightly. Though we have the same basic gentic make-up, we homo-sapiens have many things in common but when it comes to a group of people who share many phyical traits sterotypes and generalizations are made about them creating division amoust the groups.  It reminded me of what I read about teenage girls with body image issues. When it came to the girls who were born and rasied in an area that didn't have beauty standards that were based off of celebrities they didn't see have body issues. It is truly sad about this situation and how many people are facing food insecurity. Personally, I grew up with food insecurity as well, so most of my diet growing up was processed foods because it is cheaper and we could have more food that was canned and processed than the food that was fresh.      Over the years that governments' aid toward low-income families has been slowly evolving. At first many of the products, they could buy were all mainly processed foods, but now we're slowing shifting towards a healthier diet. Though there were a strong push and heavy encouragement the prices of healthier foods were still much higher than processed foods.      When the Covid-19 hit, it made it much harder for low-income families.
